Raw hide hammers are great for working with hammer forms, T Dollies, or general forming to eliminate marring on you material, especially when working in softer materials. The use of a raw hide hammer when torch shrinking also allows a much more efficient shrink compared to steel faced hammer. The raw hide will not stretch the material being shrank, yielding more shrinking.
